The 6 Deck Design Principles

The process of creating a deck plan, selecting a suitable location, and choosing the appropriate features to include should be done with the intent to take advantage of all the unique features of your home and backyard and need family members and their aesthetic preferences. A good deck design grows out of existing conditions and does not create a feeling that the resulting tires were forced out of the site. The important thing is to focus on the six design principles that will help you achieve the goal to create a satisfying and successful decks.

Principle # 1: The deck should be accessible and give the board wants to make use of it. Homeowners family, friends and other guests will not need a tire that is difficult to achieve. It should be accessible from the home's interior spaces such as living room, kitchen, dining room or living room or a hallway. The ideal situation would have covered accessed by multiple inputs from different rooms. Doors must be wide enough to make the transition from indoors to outdoors. Glass doors help maintain the illusion that the deck is actually a part of the house interior. Access to deck from the garden should be appealing. Wide steps can create a dramatic flair, but must be placed so that the practical traffic movement of tire users. Lighting should be used to promote access to evening and gives a measure of safety.

Principle # 2: The deck should be a pleasant and comfortable area. The tire design must take into account wind direction, the movement of the sun rays and areas of shadow. A privacy screen can provide a sound barrier, a windshield, and / or privacy in any backyard environment. The tire can be placed on a way to get the full benefit of the sun, while offering a shaded area to suit the individual preferences of its occupants. Attention can also be given to inform the deck in such a way as to provide visual access to pleasant views of water features, gardens, etc.

Principle # 3: tires should give a feeling of privacy and seclusion. This can be achieved by locating the deck where it is able to use fences, house walls, trees, shrubs and privacy screens. Multi-level deck can provide deck areas that are low enough for privacy but still allow access to the house. Deck railings, low benches and container plants can work together to soften the tire circumference and create a sense of enclosure.

Principle # 4: A game size should be proportional for its intended uses and the space available. A deck area for an activity as eating should be approximately the same size as the home's interior dining room. A game that will serve multipurpose should have these different areas separated by level changes of the shape of the deck or by the use of container plants, benches or other special facilities. Each area must exude a feeling of comfort. A really successful deck design gives room to move in and out of the house for each area but is dimensioned in such a way to offer opportunity for quiet conversation or larger group activities.

Principle # 5: A deck should fit in perfectly with the that option. When viewed from any point in the backyard, the deck should fit into the style of the house and its surroundings to create an overall effect. The shape of the tire should reflect the existing forms in the backyard. Generally, using simple shapes creates a more powerful design than to exploit complex. Railings should be used wisely in making a design statement. The use of stains or paints can be used to help a tire fit in the house, which it is attached.

Principle # 6: A game should take advantage of a unifying element. The perfect deck design creates a feeling of wanting to visit the deck and stay. Several factors work together to create this common effect. But a single function or other kind of theme is key to making everything work together. It could be a repeat of an ornate pattern continuous line of benches, the style of railing system or even the use of a single color. It should be a simple, fundamental element that is related in one way or another with a similar function in the house or near of garden structure such as a pergola, arbor, gazebo or shed.

Good deck design is no accident. This happens when the key elements and principles used to create a space that reflects the needs and aesthetic preferences of its creator. A wise homeowner will concentrate on quality rather than quantity. Avoid complex or overly ambitious Design is an important consideration.

The key is to take the time to plan the deck at the best possible way, so it will stand the test.
