1st Introduction

West Virginia, endlessly covered with forests and known as "Mountain State", offers breathtaking scenery, natural resources-related attractions, and year-round outdoor activities.

Once rich in coal and wood, it was characterized by mining and logging railways, extracted them, but when decades of removal began to deplete these commodities, their rolling green carpet mountains showed secondary products-namely, hiking, biking, fishing, rafting, climbing, and hunting for tourists and sports enthusiasts alike. Its New River Gorge, which offers many similar activities are just as beautiful with its rugged banks and azure surface, while the principle city of Charleston, revived in the 1970s and 1980s, is now equipped with museums, art, shopping malls, restaurants and world-class performance venues.
